The panel will explore hindrance and potential risks in some challenging sectors and areas and find rational and practical policy spaces for interventions and engagement of relevant agents.

Health inequalities are pervasive in Bangladesh like other developing countries. Access to health facilities and services varies significantly among the rural-urban population, between boys and girls or even due to the geographical disparity. Therefore, chances of having good health are not equally distributed in our society- aggravating health inequities and health divide.

The session aims to determine the right policy interventions to reduce the health inequality and minimize health divide. Policy mix is expected to be crafted in a fashion that ensures affordable, reliable and sustainable health facility for all.

The best way to end violence against women is to prevent it from happening in the first place by addressing its root and structural causes and ensuring women empowerment through equal rights in the resource, education, job, and opportunity is the right solution. The session targets to find an appropriate answer for addressing the challenges of eradicating women violence and truly empowering them in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, for the first time, will qualify for graduation out of LDC category in March 2018 under UNCDP triennial review. LDC graduation would attach a new image in the global community and bring confidence for Bangladesh. However, the challenges and costs of LDC graduation are also formidable. A prudent policy framework tied with appropriate action plan may turn these challenges into opportunities. The Session would focus on the probable impact this transition process may have on the economy and the possible mitigating steps which could ease the transition process.
