Dr. Christian Eigen-Zucchi is the Program Leader for the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions (EFI) covering Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. He has extensive development experience, including seven years of operational engagements in South Asia (where he also served as Country Economist for Bhutan), two years of corporate work as Special Assistant to the World Bank Managing Director based in headquarters, and three years of research and analysis in the Development Economics Prospects Group (DECPG). While in DEC, he was engaged in the full range of DECPG products, such as the Migration and Development Brief, the Commodity Markets Outlook, and the two WBG flagships produced by the department, the Global Monitoring Report and the Global Economic Prospects. Christian holds a PhD in Economics from George Mason University, where he focused on public choice, institutional economics, growth, international finance and monetary economics. Prior to joining the WBG, he worked at the Institute of International Finance.
